those are really good! your dean looks a little younger than tv!dean, but still very definitely him, and i love the shadows on sam's jacket. and his mouth. i really, really like his mouth.

You're definitely right on Dean and that's one of the things I want to work on - he still looks too soft. Dean is more like a blend of soft but also very masculine and in the next picture I plan to show the rough edges a bit more..

These are so good! Maybe Sam's eyes are ever so slightly too close together, but everything else is perfect. You've really managed to get their hair, and even made Dean's seem like his specifically rather than the generic short hair he sometimes ends up with in sketches. And the clothes are amazing, the collars of both their jackets and the front pockets and cuffs on Sam's are spot on.

You're right about Sam's eyes. My pet peeve used to be too much distance between the eyes and mouth (aka. the long nose à la Pinocchio) but somehow those eyes still provide me with challenges.

As for the clothes, I spent a lot of time looking at pictures of them...erm...researching ;)

Loved the details of the faces, the eyes and the lips are very expressive, and I just adore Dean's expression. The hair is great too (the ligth on Sam's hair is great).

I like the detailing in the clothes, the shadow work on Sam´s jacket is specially good.

I wish I had constructive criticism for you, but seem that you get everything quite well, the anatomy and proportions are great (love how you got Sam bigger than Dean), and your shadowing is good too.

Maybe you can work the likeness to the actors, but I think it's secondary if you really "got" the the characters, as you did here.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. Seriously. In fact, It's a funny thing you should mention the likeliness to the actors (or the lack thereof). I'd planned to do more studies of them - close-ups of the faces and my mind is sort of filled with notes to myself: give Dean pouty lips and a stronger chin, make Sam's nose more pointed and emphasize the forehead etc. etc. It'll be a lot of fun :)
